Get some slightly more aggressive pads and GOOD OEM blank rotors i.e. Brembro. Do SS lines ATE super blue fluid or whatever the current offering is (they can't do blue anymore).

Pros: more aggressive pads
Vehicle: Volkswagen

Brembo Brake discs

I have their drilled discs on my TR6. My dream was Ceriani, forks with disc brakes, I still have a new brembo caliper. They are and were a status item.

Pros: status item

Bosch Brake discs
Cadnr
  • Noise:
Rating 3.0

Just replaced front rotors and pads with Bosch semi-metallics. After initial “bedding in”, including some sharp braking from speed and emergency stops from various speeds, I went on a long trip. Straight away, I noticed that whenever I start to apply the front brakes after a sustained period of acceleration, there is a single knock/pop sound that comes from around the front left of the vehicle.

Pros: brakes seem to work well
Cons: single knock/pop sound

Brembo Brake discs

The front rotors were in a box from Zimmerman and rear were from Brembo. Just about from the start the brakes slightly squealed. The noise gradually increased that nearly each time the brakes were stepped on they squealed. After about 2K miles the noise got to the point of being excessive. They squeal in the morning when cool when slowing from 20MPH or warm and hot when slowing from 45+MPH. The only way to make them silent is to slam on them hard, but the next time they will squeal as well. In addition to the noise, the rotors started developing rust on the hub sections.

Cons: rotors rusted, brakes squealed
Mileage: 2000 km
