OEM Volkswagen Turbocharger

Well, as long as you take care of your turbo chargers, you can drive it for years without having a problem, but if you just abuse it again and again just because you bought it for the power outputs, then ofc it will wear out in couple of years and you have to change the whole turbo which will cost around 1-2.5 lakhs.

Pros: drive for years
Cons: wear out in couple years
Vehicle: Volkswagen

Garrett Turbocharger

I was running the GT2860RS turbos and they’re making the power you’re aiming for too. I can say I was spinning tires in third gear and hitting boost around 3400 RPMs. They may be slight older and won’t spool as fast as the newer GTX, but that particular turbo will still kick in the pants and not drain the wallet. And they are ball bearing turbos too.

Pros: making target power, spinning tires, good boost, ball bearings, good value
Cons: slightly slower spool
Vehicle: Nissan

IHI Turbocharger

The main party piece of the TCR/Clubsport/R engine is the IHI IS38 turbocharger. It is optimised to keep building power higher up in the rev range, where the regular GTI's IS20 runs out of puff.

Pros: builds power higher up

Pros: drove fine initially

My turbo went bad and it was throwing the same code as yours except many more. I took it to honda and i got the same code with a bad turbo. I will say tho, i never noticed a difference in my car or power and luckily the lights and codes went off after a couple days.

Pros: no noticeable power difference, codes went off
Cons: turbo went bad, throwing codes
Vehicle: Honda
