Our 2016 Q3's (with 44K miles) check engine light went on and the code was PO299

The P0299 code for a 2016 Audi Q3 indicates a turbocharger underboost condition.

2015 Audi A6 I bought for my daughter not bad as in breaking down just ass backwards European stuff such ass water pump buried in rear of engine everything on engine plastic crappy cheap design of the turbo charger waste gates overpriced parts.

I had to replace the turbo booster 3 years ago under warranty and am now having to replace again! I only have 45,000km on the car. They have told me that I’m not driving hard enough. I drive every week to my cottage and often am in the 120-125km range, along with regular driving around town during the week.

Within 3 years (approx 30k km) I had to have a turbo charger replaced. There were a series of intermittent engine faults that the dealer cleared or they went away. They only fixed it after the fourth time I had it in. Symptoms were slight loss of power at speed (once) and engine lights.

I specced it when I blew the turbocharger on my MQB Audi S3. Audi wanted almost $29,000.00. It turns out that all I needed was a new turbocharger and a cleaning of the impeller shards from my intercooler.

In fact, it receives various upgrades, including pistons with new bolts and rings, stronger connecting rods, a new aluminum-silicon alloy cylinder head, different injection valves and a different turbocharger.
