I just got a set of the new RE71RS and they were great for the one day I ran them. My times were on par with a set of old maxxis rc1 slicks.

Pros: great, on par

I went with the KO2s on my 2021 Silverado 3500. The mileage difference was about 1mpg less with the KO2s. The road noise was also noticeable at lower speeds but not annoying. The performance in the rain and the little amount of snow we did have was awesome. Never had to use 4x4 in the snow.

Pros: awesome rain performance
Cons: lower mileage, road noise

I used to always run KO2, but now I run Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Much better tire in my opinion. Not near as much highway noise either.

Pros: less highway noise

Vredestein Tires

It sounds like your issues are mostly due to the tires. The stock tires aren't very good in the [snow and cold](https://www.tirerack.com/tires/continental-procontact-rx). I changed my tires to better all-weather tires (Vredestein Quatrac Pros) and saw great performance in snow for the last two winters in Chicago.

Pros: great performance in snow
Cons: not good in snow

Decided to upgrade the stock Toyo A36s on my 21 CE Turbo AWD at 14k miles. The Toyos weren't great when new but they worked and even did pretty well in the snow last winter. They wore really quickly though and only had about 4/32nds left when I went for annual inspection a couple of weeks ago. I did some research and narrowed replacements down to either Michelin CC2s or the Pirelli Scorpion WeatherActive. The WeatherActive is pretty new and there weren't many reviews available and even less that had any snow testing so I wanted to share my brief experience. They feel great. Really grippy and stable on dry roads and so much better at absorbing bumps and general road noise. I'm sure a lot of this is just new vs old tires but it still makes the CX5 feel great. Also got a few inches of snow overnight and the tires are solid in the snow. Acceleration, turning, and braking are all almost as good as on dry roads with the old tires. I'd highly recommend considering these if you're looking for new tires. They're generally going to be a bit less than the CC2s but offer very similar specs and performance. And the 235 55 size looks awesome on the CX5. Would definitely recommend something like this as opposed to an AT tire if you want a more sporty look without sacrificing the CX5s great driving characteristics.

Pros: grippy, stable, absorbs bumps
Cons: wore really quickly

I am running Vredestein Quatrac Pro. Super comfy ride but still pretty sporty for a all-season tire. I would not hesitate to buy another set of Vredestein tires, all seasons or not!

Pros: super comfy ride, pretty sporty

I'm definitely replacing the stock tires with Wildpeaks in the spring. In the snow, the stock tires are pretty good, but ice forms very quickly with Vancouver snow and that's where the stock tires fail for me. Noticeably more slippery on ice than a proper 3PMSF rated tire.

Pros: good in snow
Cons: slippery on ice
Vehicle: Subaru
Mileage: 10000 km

I put the CrossClimate2's on my 2015 Jetta TDI. 4% loss in fuel economy. Not only that but the car lost it's precise on center feel and required much more correction to keep in straight. Feels like driving on underinflated snow tires. I hate them and will replace them with the OEM Bridgestone Ecopias.

Cons: loss in fuel economy, lost precise feel
