I just replaced the front Struts. The struts parts costed me $420 for original Honda parts (Struts must be ORIGINAL & OEM parts ONLY) with shipping from HondaPartsnow.com and $250 for installation from my former student; nowadays he owns his own mechanic shop so he gave me a discount. The ride was a bit smoother, however I still heard the damn rattle sounds!!

Pros: ride was smoother
Cons: still heard rattle
Vehicle: Honda
Mileage: 167000 km

I purchased my 98 with ~200k miles in 2017 and had my mechanic replace all struts with 5100s. I'm currently at ~275k miles and the 5100s appear to be in good shape so holding off on replacing those again.

Pros: good condition, long-lasting
Vehicle: Toyota 4runner
Mileage: 120701 km

Bilstein Strut assembly

They’ll work on a 2wd but not very well. Ranchos are junk. Spend a tiny bit more and get something better. Bilstein 5100 have been good to me for years on many vehicles.

Pros: something better
Cons: Ranchos are junk

Rough Country Strut assembly

I have them on my f150 and they right a lot better than my factory worn out struts. the only thing I didn’t like is that they advertise a 2” lift and my truck only went up 1”.

Pros: better than factory struts
Cons: lift less than advertised
Vehicle: Ford
