I only replace shocks and struts with Billstein. You pay for what you get these days and I’ve replaced OE struts only to find out the leaking OE struts performed better than Monroe or KYB’s.
Tuned by STI. Often shortened to TBSTI. Was never available in North America. You get some exterior bits including wheels, Brembo brakes, STI 6 speed, Bilstein struts & other suspension improvements, some interior bits (namely seats), strut tower brace, different mufflers, and of course the ECU tune.
I've been on B4s for two years on my 2nd gen. Granted they're on springs that sit almost an inch lower than OE height, but performance is solid and consistent all the same. Id imagine they're even more plush at OE height versus that small amount of preload from sitting slightly lower. Worth the money.
If u can see leaks then yes u need new struts
Also while going over speed breakers u can notice if the car doesnt level out immediately but goes up n down 2-3 times before settling then u have bad struts
Black if you want original ride quality. Yellow if you want a stiffer ride but with better quality damping and you’re not price sensitive.
My yellow billys are awesome
I know Bilstein struts will sit higher than normal. Even though they are supposed to replace the oem struts. I had the same issue and ended up just using the Bilstein B8s with lowering springs.
I’m using bilstein b6 with vogtland lowering springs… still somewhat harsh on my local shitty roads. Feels amazing on smooth roads though. I might consider swapping to b4 when my struts wear out because the comfort is really nice.
Bilstein is low quality
I replaced both front struts with Bilstein B4s EDC. I gained about an inch from stock ride height.
