Replacement for 2 front struts in a Honda CRV 2005 was 1,645.00. Insane, had to fix ASAP as one leaking. Felt ripped off and last time go to my usual mechanic.

Besides routine maintenance I've only had to replace the starter, valve cover gasket and struts.
I just replaced the front Struts. The struts parts costed me $420 for original Honda parts (Struts must be ORIGINAL & OEM parts ONLY) with shipping from HondaPartsnow.com and $250 for installation from my former student; nowadays he owns his own mechanic shop so he gave me a discount. The ride was a bit smoother, however I still heard the damn rattle sounds!!
I also replaced the struts, but with Honda there. What a difference overall - when I hit bigger potholes it no longer “pulls” towards the side that hit.
A few months ago, at 16+ years old, it got front struts since they were leaking and starting to make noise.
