OEM Mazda Head gasket

Oem replacement is fine. An upgrade is only required if you're going for crazy numbers. Don't worry about it below 250 horse at the wheels.

Pros: fine for up to 250hp

Head gasket replacement was an issue with 2018 and early 2019 models. Not 2020s. When mine was replaced my bumper was scratched at the bottom of the lights, the grill and headlights were out of alignment and parts were missing from the area that redirects air through the radiator.

Cons: bumper scratched, parts missing
Vehicle: Volkswagen

OEM Volkswagen Head gasket

I own a VW Passat TDi. The repairs are just more expensive and so is the maintenance. Being European, there are more electrical issues. Also the reliability is lower (I am at 270k kms and my head gasket is gone).

Cons: expensive repairs, electrical issues
Vehicle: Volkswagen Passat
Mileage: 270000 km
