AC DELCO Distributor cap

The distributor cap and rotors in these trucks are already notorious for having issues. I've only had luck with replacing these parts with AC Delco, other brands tend to develop issues pretty quickly.

Pros: reliable replacement parts
Cons: other brands develop issues

I had this issue too with my 87 245.

It simply was moisture inside the distributor cap.

It was a rainy day, I drove in a flooded street, then I stopped to check if everything was ok and I never was able to start the car again until I checked inside the distributor cap m. It was full of condensed water and the copper contacts were oxidated.

Pros: easy to check
Cons: moisture issue
Vehicle: Volvo

Bosch Distributor cap

Bought a new distributor cap. Popped it on and it "wiggled" while car was running. Looks crazy as sin. What the hell is that about?! It's a Bosch cap. Maybe it's made in China now. This ever happen to you guys? I'll shoot video. Nutty!!

Cons: wiggled while running

HITACHI Distributor cap

I thought I was getting OEM Hitachi Reman for $275. And I pop the cap off, it's scraping on the coil tower. It's stamped Made in China, I could've gotten the same junk off RockAuto for $129 or so. It's going back.

Cons: scraping on coil tower
Vehicle: Nissan
Part number: NS60

We had to stop buying Bosch caps and rotors on Benz because the plastic was holding or making moisture. Cars kept coming back with misfires, switched to beru and the problem is gone.

Pros: problem is gone
Cons: plastic holding moisture
