Magnat Differential

There's no car, for me, that strikes the balance of performance, quality, comfort, compactness, practicality, moddability, PDK-like DSG (not exactly, but you get my drift), and tastefullness as well as the Golf R. The new magna diff 100% sealed the deal, as the haldex always held the R off from being what it could be

Pros: performance, quality, comfort

OEM Nissan Differential

I have an '84 Nissan Laurel. 2.4 liter straight six and rear wheel drive. I just wish Nissan put in an limited slip differential instead of the open one it came with.

Pros: limited slip differential
Cons: open differential
Vehicle: Nissan Laurel

OEM BMW Differential

Say goodbye to a usable 1st gear lol. Redline at like 15mph. But it’s peppy. I have the stock 325 auto diff 3.46 final drive ratio with 6sp.

Pros: peppy acceleration
Cons: unusable 1st gear
Vehicle: BMW

The springs were all out of place and one was upside down lol. The rear shocks were blown, the clutch was a warn out and poorly installed aggressive aftermarket unit, this was by far the worst part of the car. The engine has aftermarket performance cams with adjustable cam gears that were WAY off. The #4 cylinder had basically no compression as a result of an extremely gunked up intake valve. The ignition timing was wrong, and the idle was too high. The diff had horrendous lash, motor and trans mounts were shot, and a bunch of other small things here and there.

I've only had the car for a little over 2 weeks now and everything listed above has been fixed. As a result the car is actually realy enjoable now! Total night and day difference. Its at least doubled in power, the suspension doesn't bounce or rub, and the clutch is easy and smooth now. There's still a lot more to do but so far I've been loving daily driving the car!

Pros: doubled in power, suspension improved, clutch smooth
Cons: diff had horrendous lash

OEM Toyota Differential

The Tacoma/Hilux I hate because of how actually shit they are. Bad differentials that break under normal use, bad suspension, and the worst of all is the electrics that fail and are hard to diagnose. I’ve been under hundreds of these and I see the same problems every time.

Cons: bad, break under normal use
Vehicle: Toyota
