After completing the work, I took the bike out for a 300 km ride. The improvement was immediately noticeable—the brake bite was sharper, and the spongy lever feel was completely gone.

Pros: sharper brake bite
Cons: spongy lever feel
Mileage: 300 km

OEM Hyundai Brake fluid

Brake fluid replacement is based on time and mileage, usually every 2-3 years OR every 30,000-45,000 miles. This is because brake fluid absorbs moisture from the air over time. So, yeah, you might need your brake fluid replaced given the age of your car.

Pros: based on time, mileage
Cons: price is a little high

If you havent had anything beyond an oil and oil filter changed in 5 years then you're definitely overdue air, fuel and cabin filters. But the main thing is the full brake fluid change, if you leave it too long then your brakes can potentially boil when you must need them.

LIQUI MOLY Brake fluid

LIQUI Molly DOT 5.1 brake fluid - this is a must as 5.1 has a higher boiling point making it ideal for track use and sportier riding. This doesn’t allow the brakes to become spongy after repeated use.

Pros: higher boiling point
Cons: brakes become spongy
Mileage: 700 km

OEM Nissan Brake fluid

Brake fluid is an important one that you won’t see any immediate changes if left neglected, but over time can get very very expensive (and dangerous) if enough moisture absorbs into your fluid (brake fluid absorbs water over time even through the reservoir cap).

Pros: important for safety
Cons: expensive if neglected
Vehicle: Nissan
