Valvoline Dot 3&4 is probably one of if not the best value fluid. It's perfect for autox and some novice tracking, and makes for a good street fluid. I've found the brake pedal stays firmer over time much better than ATE Type 200, Motul 5.1 and especially Motul 600.

I've been using Valvoline Dot 3/4 and it has been okay but not great. I definitely could feel a loss of brake pressure at my last autocross event.
Valvoline makes a good brake fluid, it seems to hold up better than the castrol gt lma, the castrol gets dark in about a year, while the synthetic valvolne stuff stays clean longer.
Bleeding the brakes would cost about $5.00 for a quart of the valvoline synthetic dot 4 brake fluid.
