I have a 2020 XC60 with 70K miles and it's been relatively trouble free. I did have to replace the front brake rotors last summer and that has been the extent of repairs so far.

I just got my brakes and rotors on my ‘22 RX 350 changed not with OEM rotors/brakes, but Akebonos. On top of that, I got a full brake fluid flush. I feel the same “bite”. I don’t recall my OEM brakes/rotors having such bite, but I do feel quite safer because I can go from top speed to a full stop much sooner.
I have R1Concepts Geo-Carbon series rotors (2nd vehicle I’ve used them on), absolutely no complaints from my Giulia. I’m rocking them with Porterfield R4-S pads and the bite in dry is very nice and feels the same in wet.
I did mine pretty early solely because the OEM rotors were wearing like a vinyl record. Both the pads and rotors still had plenty of material—it was just a bad wear pattern. I went to Girodisc pads and rotors and have had them on happily ever since.
I\u2018d always use ATE, they\u2019re pretty high quality and usually what OEMs use
R1 concepts slotted drilled rotors and pads along with some GoSpeed traction drop springs and alignment.
I switched to brembo xtra dics and pads and im very happy with them.
ATE rotors. Check the callipers, they don' t work properly.
Those BMW CSL drilled rotors suck. They came\nstock on my e85 M & they cause horrible pedal pulsation. I did a very deep dive on this after multiple sets & replacing multiple parts & checking everything 20x.\n\nThe bottom line is, those rotors are very susceptible to unlocking thickness variation or warped rotors secondary to water getting in the holes & corrosion forming around them.
My car was sold CPO with grooved rotors. The brakes sound like a 1990 caravan. 2x dealerships refused to replace them. I reported the issue almost immediately after taking ownership. Didn’t hear it in the test drive :/
