I drove my 2012 V50 from late 2021~165 000km to present day 300 000km with skf discs and pads with no problem. Ordered a new set from Aeromotors (EU, EST) ~70€.
Owner reviews for brake discs
Dynamic Friction are great with ceramic pads, only complaint is cosmetic, they do not coat the rotors so after some rain the inside hub of the rotors starts to rust. Purely cosmetic, great rotors! I drive them fast regularly and they perform better than OEM
I went with R1 concepts. Really good brake rotors and brake pads so far. I’ve had their regular ones and just switched to drilled and slotted. I’ve noticed an improvement in braking after driving for a while as the brakes don’t heat up as much. But it depends on your driving style. R1 concepts kits also come with hardware if you select it which would help because the oem hardware get warn out after a while.
I bought powerstop drilled and slotted rotors from rock auto back in 2022. 3 years later they weren't even halfway through the pads. I paid $685 for carbon ceramic pads + rotors and accessories. Yes, slightly more dust but I didn't notice any significant wear on the rotors.
check out the Zimmermann set from FCP. Much smoother, and almost no brake dust. And I believe they cover a full replacement under their warranty program.
This is the combination that worked for me - Akebono 370z calipers - 2 piece floating DBA rotors w/ aluminum hats - Winmax W6 pads - 3" ducts from front bumper to backside of the hubs. An advantage to the aluminum hats is it really reduced heat transfer into the hubs, improving the life of the bearings. The floating design helps prevent warping and cracking from the stress of all the thermal cycling.
OEM pads and rotors lasted 150k miles so I went with them again. $389 for everything. Perfect fit, finish and feel.
I paid 180 euros for all rotors and pads from TRW and Brembo. Worked fine for me.
The previous owner had a brand new set of front and rear pads and rotors that came with the car when I bought it. Raybestos brand, assuming he bought them off Rockauto. Anyways, front went together no problem but the rear calipers needed pressed in to fit new the pads.
Not only does my '22 SE have the most atrocious grind and squeak all of you know, i have a nasty groove in one of them. I'm going to all new rotors and aftermarket pads when it comes time.
