Just happened the other day with my 2015 Corolla. The CEL and the Trac Off lights stayed on. Turned out to be a bad ignition coil. Easy fix.

Totally, saw one for the first time on a 2003 Corolla. I was like “dafuq”? Turned out the ignition coils need to be replaced once every 22 years, haha.
For me it was just a bad if ignition coil, replaced all of them myself and it was magically gone afterwards!
What’s not low stress is when I lose traction control and vehicle stability control whenever my check engine light comes on. A bad ignition coil shouldn’t affect those safety features.
OEM was like $70 per coil! Ripoff.
