I’m 43 and only have had 3 cars in my life only Corollas and Camry. I get a new one around 250k miles. They are great reliable cars that run well with basic maintenance. Only wear and tear items have I ever replaced with the exception of an alternateer on one of my corollas at around 200k miles. As long as I can keep going to 250k I will keep buying them.

Pros: great reliable cars
Vehicle: Toyota Corolla
Mileage: 402336 km

Rating 5.0

I can’t speak to delphi specifically, but I went through 3 fuel pumps from the local parts stores before spending the $100 for an OEM Toyota pump. The parts store pumps failed because the rubber diaphragm could not handle modern ethanol gas. The Toyota one uses great quality rubber and has been fine for years.

Pros: great quality rubber
Cons: diaphragm could not handle ethanol
Vehicle: Toyota

OEM Toyota Alternator

Did this years ago in my 5th gen, not because of more Amps, but because for some dumb reason the Alternator for the Celica was $250 reman (back in 2014), but Camry's in the Junk yard with Good OEM Alternators were plentiful. That was after I had 3 reman alternators fail in less than 6 months, 2 being DOA!

Pros: good OEM alternators plentiful
Cons: reman alternators fail
Vehicle: Toyota Celica

OEM Toyota Oil filter

I’ve been bringing these OEM Toyota filters to the shop for years now. And they’re always the exact same ones, and moreover, they’ve always put them on for me without a problem. Today, for some reason, they told me that it’s not compatible with my car?

Pros: exact same ones, always worked
Cons: not compatible with car

OEM Toyota Brake pads

I disagree with most on daily driving the 80. I find it reasonably accessible to drive regularly with one exception: the brakes. Most people are used to their cars stopping at a moments notice and the stock brakes in the 80s suck.

Cons: stock brakes suck
Vehicle: Toyota Land Cruiser

OEM Toyota Steering angle sensor

Rating 1.0

Had an 06 Toyota Highlander that did that after 4 or 5 years. It was a fault in the sensors or control circuit of the electric power steering unit that made the car jerk the wheel in the opposite direction direction to where I would start steering.

Cons: super dangerous
Vehicle: Toyota Highlander
