My Toyota had this exact issue a couple weeks ago. I had to reset the steering angle sensor. For mine it was engine off, steer lock to lock, switch off and crank. Fixed it right up, Nissan might be similar.

Had an 06 Toyota Highlander that did that after 4 or 5 years. It was a fault in the sensors or control circuit of the electric power steering unit that made the car jerk the wheel in the opposite direction direction to where I would start steering.
