OEM Toyota Timing belt
yroCyaR
  • Visible wear:
Rating 4.5

I was in a similar situation on my LS430. I saw the sticker under the hood that was done 130k miles prior to the current mileage. The belt was perfectly fine and had most likely been replaced since. If it’s a genuine Aisin/Toyota belt it’s probably still good. I’ve seen these go far and beyond 10yr/100k mile mark

Pros: perfectly fine, long lasting
Vehicle: Lexus
Mileage: 209214 km

OEM Toyota Brake caliper

Replace them with OEM GX460 calipers, rotors, and brake pads. As an '09 GX470 owner, I did mine several months ago - best braking experience I ever had. Rockauto is a great place to buy stuff at best prices. I bought CV axles made by cardone from them - $90 each. They run great on my GX.

Pros: best braking experience
Vehicle: Lexus

OEM Toyota Oil filter

Dealerships will use their branded parts, which is the OEM (manufacturer) provided part. For example during a oil service, Toyota will use their Toyota/Lexus branded oil filters that come in the little red/white box with brand stamping all over it.

Pros: OEM part, brand stamping
Vehicle: Toyota

OEM Toyota Brake caliper

Just make sure it’s for a GX460 from 2010-2013 or 14 cause they slightly changed in later years and it won’t mount up to the 470. I just did mine about a month n half ago with the OEM calipers pads and rotors and they’ve been great so far

Pros: great braking experience
Vehicle: Lexus

OEM Toyota Tires
JAROD0980
  • Grip:
  • Ride comfort:
Rating 3.0

The OEM tires on nearly every brand aren’t really good. This is the part where you shop around and find the tires for you. But you can find some really good ones for either amazing grip or maximum comfort.

Pros: amazing grip, maximum comfort
Cons: OEM tires aren't good

OEM Toyota Battery

Having been burned with low quality auto parts store batteries (specifically for the Prius) and their being unable to honor their warranties, the Toyota battery is the only way to go.

Pros: Toyota battery recommended
Cons: low quality, warranty issues

OEM Toyota Brake pads

I went to the Toyota dealership to get my free oil change, brake pads were nearly at EOL. Went back to the same Toyota dealership for my next free oil change, same brake pads suddenly had 4mm.

Cons: brake pads nearly EOL
Vehicle: Toyota
