Performance and reliability per dollar isn’t good. The turbo is the coolest looking trim in the 996 gen, but i really don’t like the headlights.

Have the same issue in a brand new cayenne. They said the problem is that I live in an area with humid weather and that they cant replicate the issue in the workshop and wont replace them. From what I have heard and read so far, it seems it is an issue with Porsche headlights.
I had the same issue on one front light for my cayenne 2016. I am not a handy man and got advised from my mechanic that I replaced it, got replaced for 9000 dirhams for a used one and perfect since then. I didn\u2019t bother fixing, it had a hole in the silicon.
Cpo is nice from an extended warranty standpoint but the condition of the car is ultimately up to the buyer to determine. There was a gt4 rs that a local SoCal dealer cpo’d with Chinese headlights, non oem hood, and a repaired mag rim.
My 996.1 is my first Porsche, and it’s consistently able to make me happy. Even the dumb lights are aging surprisingly well.
That\u2019s crazing and is not from driving, is caused by heat and direct sunlight, happened to my 981 on a very hot week I left the car parked unused, one day they were perfect a week later they were exactly like yours. A professional detailer sanded the outer layer and polished it, I then added PPF and they were perfect again.
They work exceptionally well though, the dipped beem on this car is like the full beem on my previous vehicles haha
Neighbors headlight stopped working on his $4950 for it woof. Replace the one on my Tundra that was bad $350. The Mecans do seem to suffer some issues with expensive to fix items like every other German SUV's.
That’s terrible, but I’m not surprised. The lens on my 992 cracked and Porsche wanted $6300 for a new headlight (they don’t sell just the lens).
I had to replace one of the PDLS+ headlights and it was $3,600. So that's an expensive fix but at least they didn't tear up the rest of the car.
