OEM Honda Brake caliper

I had driven the first gen Axia for 5 years and I feel its stock brake is decent. Especially after I changed to Myvi lagi best (also stock), I felt Axia's has better stopping power, likely due to its lighter weight. Since then, I was looking for an upgrade for my Myvi. Upgrading to a bigger caliper should increase the braking power, even better if the disk is slotted. I considered this brand before but didn't go with it due to the price. I went with half-cut Honda Odessey/Civic 2-pot which costed only 1/3 and couldn't be happier. Not only it gives me more confidence when braking, also the are quite good-looking.

Pros: increased braking power, good looks
Cons: pricey

OEM Honda Windshield
Makhfi
  • Chips/cracks:
Rating 1.0

Just scheduled to have the windshield replaced for a 4th time in 5 years. All replacements have been OEM glass. I don’t even drive the car much just tired of paying my deductible once every year or so. Today I was driving on the highway and randomly heard a small rock hit the windshield and next I noticed there was a small crack on the upper right corner. 10 minutes later it expanded to over 2 feet long. Owned a Camry for over 10 years never had to replace the windshield despite hearing several rocks and chips hitting the windshield. Do I just have bad luck with the Honda Pilot windshields or are they just more prone to breaking.

Cons: prone to cracking, low durability
Vehicle: Honda Pilot

OEM Honda Head gasket
ReisonRMP
  • Overheating:
Rating 1.0

My 2020 Accord 1.5t has 80K miles and already had to do valve cover gasket and now head gasket is blown. Then there’s also the issue of the front radar sensor that is constantly getting stolen because some genius at Honda decided to put this $700 part in the front of the car with nothing protecting it; looks like Honda just decided to give absolutely no f*cks when building this masterpiece. Oops almost forgot, had to replace the full head unit for the radio because it just decided to stop working at 50K miles.

Cons: head gasket blown, radar sensor stolen
Vehicle: Honda Accord
Mileage: 80000 km

OEM Honda Steering rack

I have a 2016 civic, got it in 2019 with 35k miles. Didn’t notice any issues until a couple years ago. I have about 80k miles now. The sticky steering has slowly gotten worse, and is worse with warmer weather. I think it is partly electrical. 2 years ago my car battery died and I replaced it, then all of a sudden the sticky steering immediately improved. And I realized that my wheel was actually sticky before. I wasn’t sure if I had imagined that my steering was off until I replaced the battery and it became so smooth. Well that didn’t last. It has since gotten worse again. It is a constant battle when I am driving and I fear people think I’m drunk because I’m constantly having to adjust to keep the car as straight as I can. And it’s scary when I turn on a slow speed and have to accelerate onto the interstate. I feel like it tries to go a different way.

Pros: steering improved after battery
Cons: sticky steering, gotten worse, scary to drive
Vehicle: Honda Civic
Mileage: 128747 km
