Horn
We have a '25 Sport and run Blizzaks on it and its been great the last two winters.
I have a MK6 and it handles great on snow with winter tires.
If you treat it right, the vw will outlast the Honda easily. If you're not going to be able to keep up with oil/ fluid/ dsg/ fuel filter etc... then you should get the Honda.
Just changed the ignition coils. Fixed it!! I recommend getting BOSCH or an OEM equivalent brand.
I made it to 240k on my ‘19 before I had to change the fronts. I still have 6/32 on the rear pads at 255k now too. The factory pads are crazy good
Most of my traction issues are probably down to my snow tires( cooper evolution winter) I’ll be switching brands for 2026 winter season. But overall tbh they handle really well.
When I traded in my 2018 Jetta at just under 90k miles it still had the original front pads and rotors, but the rear brakes needed to be done at 60k miles, and then within my last year of ownership one of the rear calipers seized and needed to be replaced.
I went to Northland VW this past spring for my 22 jetta, just for an oil change and inspection. Their oil change was close to $200 and then they said I needed my front brake pads and rotors changed. They quoted me close to $1000 for that, for just the front brakes!!! I went to lordco and bought the parts myself and got a local shop to put them on. Going that route cut the cost in half.
No, fram is the worst possible oil filter brand. They are restrictive, cheap, Chinese crap. I've seen them come fresh out the box with gaps in the metal. I've seen videos of people cutting open un used filters and finding surface rust.
