I ended up with some Bosch all season wiper blades. They were like $50 for the pair, but are considered premium.

Also, my 90A Bosch alternator is about the same size and weight as my old 65A Bosch alternator. Going to a 90A alternator is a great cheap mod.
After initial spray and clearing, they really do work nice, look like the factory design and have that slight wind ridge for holding tight as you drive.
I did this on my mk1, along with a 90A Bosch alternator (AL49X ?) and a variable voltage regulator to get 14V. Also, I replaced all the tail lights and side markers bulbs with LED bulbs (superbrightleds) . This greatly reduced the amps drawn from the alternator.

at 30K and third oil change @ 10K, my oil analysis went to the waste oil furnace, it said the oil was perfect. First change @10K was Castrol 0W40, last two were Mobil 1 0W40.
I like the bilstein touring struts. They are a great value for a slightly sportier than stock strut.
After 70K miles of fun driving, I finally replaced my front brake rotors and pads...3mm left on the pads LOL. I got Zimmermann Rotors($180) and Mintex pads($45) and couldn't be happier. In fact, this set-up feels a lot better than the OEM bite and feel plus the massive reduction in brake dust.
I changed clock spring a few days ago, before i changed, my airbag was on, the horn was not working but there was no issue with ESP. After i changed clock spring, Horn starts to work, but Airbag light still on and ESP light on now. I changed the fuses, but still the same.
After buying Rain X 2 in 1 fluid and filling our Tiguan's reservoir up for a trip my wife took, she came back with the warning light on to refill the :banghead:washer tank. It wasn't empty but I topped it up and the light would still not go out.
