Alternator wise, I'd definitely spend the money and acquire a nice Bosch unit to replace yours if you were gonna swap it.

Works perfectly. Did it on mine last night.
I have the oem blue center caps otw but am not installing them until I powdercoat my Porsche calipers blue in the spring(currently red).
If you were to go with the Zimmerman rotors (I wouldn't go drilled, only slotted/dimpled/blank) and ATE or Textar pads you can run them until they're dead, pay shipping to/from FCP and they'll send you another set. I personally have slotted StopTech rotors on my MK7R and they've been awesome. Even with 5 track days, multiple winter's and a lot of street miles with track pads installed they're still in great shape.
I kept stock rotors and just upgraded the pads to EBC RedStuff. From my internet searching, I determined that rotors weren't worth it unless I planned on tracking the car, which I don't. Someone else mentioned noise in comparing Red vs Yellow, and that was part of what swayed me toward Red (I think Red also has a longer life and/or less dust).
I've used Zimmerman + ATE combos on my ... for daily use. They are totally fine. Good stuff. Couple weeks ago I wanted to try something different on the R so I got stoptech slotted and EBC red. They feel good so far. Hopefully low dust.
Stoptech + EBC reds is a pretty good option for street.
US manual states 507 can be used, but you might get worse fuel economy... Mine is about 0.3 mpg lower on liquimoly toptec 4200 5w-3p
after putting the new ones i changed all the spark plugs too, to fit them properly with new wires. but the car runned roughly, so bad..and when mechanic unscrew the new spark plugs to see, they were carbonized black, with just a ride around.
Just noticed yesterday my front rotors are pretty scored too - got a screw in my tire and the repair shop commented on the rotors too.
