MOTUL Brake fluid

I did some research before each purchase and tried to buy OEM- or OEM+-quality fluids and oils across the board. Motul RBF 600 Factory Line Dot-4 100 Percent Synthetic Racing Brake Fluid

Pros: 100 percent synthetic
Vehicle: Subaru BRZ
Part number: MTL100949

OEM Subaru Bushings
Kfurness
  • Harshness:
  • Loose feel:
Rating 4.0

I just did my front lower control arms on my 14 FXT. It's the forward bushing that usually wears out and causes a vibration at highway speed. My driver side one was pretty bad.

Cons: vibration at highway speed
Vehicle: Subaru

OEM Subaru Bushings
AMC4x4
  • Loose feel:
Rating 5.0

I just had mine done on my 2019 Forester with 112K miles for the same reason I see yours - the bushings are shot. It made a night/day difference in handling. I had noticed the car had gotten less "planted" and more skatey on the road over any rough pavement or bumps.

Pros: night/day difference in handling
Cons: car gotten less planted
Vehicle: Subaru Forester
Mileage: 112000 km

Shell Engine oil
Veritech-1
  • Exhaust smoke:
Rating 4.0

I wouldn’t go with 0W20. Most people thicken the oil up in these when they start getting excessive oil burning. Lots of folks running Rotella 5W40. I ran it for years before I got tired of paying the premium price.

Pros: thicken oil, excessive oil burning
Cons: premium price

Bendix Brake discs

Get some quality Bendix rotors off amazon. Great quality and price. Don’t get some goofy ass “performance” rotors made by who the hell knows out of whatever, don’t get overpriced parts store bottom of the barrel quality. Get a quality oem replacement. Bendix. After trying many brands I buy nothing else unless I can’t get theirs.

Pros: great quality, good price, reliable choice
Vehicle: Subaru BRZ

OEM Subaru CVT transmission
The-Salty-gamer
  • Smoothness:
  • Shudder:
  • Noise:
Rating 3.5

CVT doesn’t give me reliability anxiety, it’s a fleet car sold to police. Get it serviced regularly, it’s fine. Most people blame the cvt, when it’s actually the valves need cleaned, and O2 sensors, Spark plugs, coil packs need replaced. The stock tune needs updated. Even then the Subaru tune isn’t great. My kid loves the smooth as butter cvt ride. I love it puts her to sleep.

Pros: smooth ride, puts kid to sleep, reliable with service
Cons: stock tune not great, needs regular service
Vehicle: Subaru Forester

VITOUR Tires

Meh. Stones until they're proven. The regular P1's were a bunch of hype, which I was looking forward to, then they didn't deliver.

Cons: didn't deliver, just hype
Vehicle: Subaru BRZ
