Rating 5.0

Agree with the Conti DWS. My son lives in Colorado and regularly heads to the mountains to ski. The DWS worked fine for him in his 2011 WRX.

Pros: worked fine
Cons: none

OEM Subaru Thermostat
Clutch_22
  • Overheating:
Rating 5.0

Always use a genuine Subaru thermostat. Think of it this way - $40 for a thermostat shipped to your door is better than putting a new $10 in every 3 months.

Pros: reliable, long-lasting
Cons: frequent failure
Vehicle: Subaru Outback

Ferodo Brake pads
DemandCommonSense
  • Braking:
  • Noise:
  • Dust:
Rating 4.5

I ran with Ferodo DS2500s. They work incredibly well for light track use (my street tires overheat before the brakes ever fade), they are dead silent, and, somehow, very low dust. They are more expensive than most other pads though and probably excessive for most people in their capabilities.

Pros: excellent for track, dead silent, very low dust
Cons: more expensive, excessive capabilities
Vehicle: Subaru

DBA Brake discs

I'm putting [DBA T3 4000](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005SJ7ERU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) rotors on my WRX (with Ferodo DS2500 pads) next week. Those rotors are rated for racing temps and aren't crazy expensive.

Pros: rated for racing temps
Cons: aren't crazy expensive
Vehicle: Subaru
Part number: T3 4000

OEM Subaru Brake pads
Indigo20v
  • Braking:
Rating 5.0

I as well just replaced the oem brakes after almost 7 years. Other than a warrantied sensor, I've not had any issues. Still a blast to drive after 7 years, it still feels new.

Pros: still a blast to drive
Mileage: 48000 km

JURID Brake pads

In hindsight, however, I do drive 15 miles up/down/through a mountain pass 5 days a week. That’s gotta be the culprit!

Cons: rapid wear

OEM Subaru AC compressor
twoheadedhorseman
  • Cooling performance:
Rating 1.0

My 2016 wrx has an AC compressor fit for a small drawer or shitty wine fridge. In the summer I can have the AC in full blast for the whole ride and the car never cools off. :(

Cons: car never cools off
Vehicle: Subaru
