VALVOLINE Engine oil
Even_Witness1074
  • Exhaust smoke:
Rating 5.0

had a Y33 nissan with 305K miles on the OD, it was burning/losing about a quart every 900 miles or so, after 4 oil changes over a year and a half with Valvoline R&P, its now down to a quart every 3000 miles give or take a couple of hundred. its no more expensive than other quality oils so why not? if it can do that for a 26 year old nissan V8, it has me sold.

Pros: reduced oil consumption, good value
Vehicle: Nissan

GT Radial Tires

  • Grip:
  • Noise:
  • Ride comfort:
Rating 5.0

I have the Adventuro ATX's on my Frontier and have 0 complaints. 17,000 miles on them and still showing tons of tread left, no vibes and no noise. They were beasts in the snow and still ride perfectly smoothly. I would 100% buy them again.

Pros: smooth ride, no noise
Vehicle: Nissan
Mileage: 27359 km

Dobinsons Shock absorbers
UniqueLoginID
  • Bottoming:
Rating 4.0

Personally I went Dobinson MRAs which have handled outback travel and tough tracks. Some prefer them revalved but mine is heavy enough to work well with them. Unlike their springs it seems to be a decent product.

Pros: handled outback travel
Vehicle: Nissan

Hankook Tires
Rich-Variety-2383
  • Grip:
  • Ride comfort:
Rating 4.0

First hour I got them installed on Nissan frontier pickup, highway distracted a bit almost not paying attention at 70mph traffic stop in front of me. I had to choose calculate between braking hard or soft. I chose the latter (softer) for fear of skidding and hitting the cars ahead. Car stopped safely. Coming from 6 year old hankook dynapro which are stiff at 35 psi I could have plowed over. These are sure comfy ride, no need to air down,  the all terrain version.

Pros: comfy ride, safe stop
Vehicle: Nissan

OEM Nissan Intercooler

  • Power:
Rating 3.0

with aftermarket intercooler and exhaust, make sure it is also (mildly) tuned otherwise you might find it goes into self protection (limp mode).

Cons: self protection, limp mode

WeatherTech Floor mat
thepalfrak
  • Cleanability:
Rating 1.0

Weathertech became synonymous with overpriced cheap plastic. For my wife’s Sentra, Weathertech was 2.5x the price of a random Chinesium Amazon complete set. Weathertech is overpriced and is resting on their laurels, just trying to ride on their brand reputation.

Cons: overpriced, cheap plastic, resting on reputation
Vehicle: Nissan Sentra

Nexen Tires

My '23 Versa came with Npriz S and it's labeled as "bad" by the dealership at 23k miles and now at 30k they aren't looking good at all to me. One just started a slow leak.

Pros: slow leak
Cons: labeled as bad
Vehicle: Nissan
Mileage: 48280 km
