OEM Nissan Engine oil

I first got my 06’ 3 years ago, my first oil change I had 2 quarts of oil in there lol. Every oil change I’d have less than 3.5 quarts every time and I did oil changes every 2.5k miles (very early but oil was cheap so I didn’t mind) Mind you my first mod was an oil catch can. It did help a bit and also kept the manifold cleaner Aside from that I only had one code in less than 10k miles of driving (135k miles) , camshaft sensor

Pros: oil catch can helped, kept manifold cleaner
Cons: low oil levels, camshaft sensor code
Vehicle: Nissan
Mileage: 10000 km

OEM Nissan Engine oil

I’ve had my 06 touring for about 4 years now but only put about 15k on it, it’s now at 139k kms. It’s been alright maintenance wise, literally only had to change things that are common on the 03-05 models. Im incredibly vigilant with checking oil and do oil changes every 4K kms. No oil burning yet thankfully but I’m expecting it to change more into the future when the miles get higher.

Pros: alright maintenance, no oil burning yet
Cons: common issues on older models
Vehicle: Nissan
Mileage: 15000 km

Rating 5.0

I’ve got an 06 350z, driven it for a year put only 5k miles but, had no problems. I also own an 05 g35 with the same DE engine and it’s got 135k and never had any major problems, and I’ve put over 110k of those miles on that car. No major repairs..1 air bag recall, I redid the clutch at 125k, had to rewire the trunk to work, and I replaced a window motor. Nothing else but, oil changes, brake jobs and battery changes. Both cars are fun to drive, and being as old as they are they cost me very little to maintain, insure, and pay minimal amount for property tax. For some perspective. Next week i’m doing the front and rear brakes on the Z. It’s gonna cost about $65-70 for parts.

Pros: no major problems, low maintenance cost
Cons: clutch replacement, trunk wiring, window motor
Vehicle: Nissan
Mileage: 5000 km

OEM Nissan Cabin filter

You ca replace your cabin air filter yourself and save yourself the money. I just replaced mine it’s like 4 screws but I must warn it’s a pain in the ass but it’s very doable.

Pros: save money, very doable
Cons: pain in the ass
Vehicle: Nissan Maxima

Cooper Tires

I threw a set of random non-EV Rated tires ( Cooper Adventurer All Seasons) on my car. From the new to old tires I got 0 change (though this might have been because my tires had a bubble and was causing issues) - My mileage ranges from 3.5-4.0mi/kW.

Pros: 0 change in mileage
Vehicle: Nissan Leaf

DBA Brake discs

I run dba rotors and endless pads on my Z, and for fast street use they’re great but on track they’re okay. Pedal gets soft halfway through the day and the rotors have developed some small microcracks after 5 days of use and street miles.

Pros: great for street use
Cons: pedal gets soft, microcracks
Vehicle: Nissan
