Hankook Tires
NWforestview
  • Grip:
  • Noise:
Rating 5.0

I replaced my GT summer tires with the Hankooks and couldn’t be happier. I went through this last mild winter in the pacific northwest with no issues. Good grip in light snow and heavy rain. Low noise and great handling with my sometimes overly aggressive driving.

Pros: good grip, low noise
Vehicle: Kia

Hankook Tires
Neglected_Martian
  • Grip:
  • Ride comfort:
Rating 4.0

I started with the khumos on a wind AWD, have the hankook’s now. The hankooks are way better in standing water/rain, and are stiffer overall. This leads to a little more road vibration but is not a major complaint. The khumos also wore out faster. Efficiency wise the hankooks are very very close but slightly less

Pros: better in rain, stiffer
Cons: more road vibration
Vehicle: Kia

Kumho Tires

Replaced my oem kumhos at 35k. Replaced them with Phantom CSports. ($850 for the set). No complaints and the range doesn't looked to be effected by more than a few miles.

Pros: no complaints
Cons: range slightly affected
Vehicle: Kia
Mileage: 35000 km

Raybestos Brake pads

I would go with the Raybestos Element 3 kit sold here. $180 total roughly front and back. 2 seperate kits, one for front, one for back. You will find this under the fully coated section here as they have different grades of pads. For the price and how long these last, you cannot beat it. And better than the top quality parts local parts stores carry, in fact Napa sells these rebranded as their premium top of the line brakes and rotors. For the price, and the quality, is by far your best option. There are better pads that will last a little longer, but are much more pricey. With the miles you drive, these will last 5-10 years. I use these on all vehicles in the rust belt, as these are rust coated.

Pros: inexpensive, long lasting, good quality

GENERAL TIRE Tires
_Celatid_
  • Grip:
  • Noise:
Rating 3.0

Got my car used with a set of them on there(AS-05), they grip really well but they seem noisy on the road. Not sure if it's my car or the tires. They were descent in the snow. I got through a Rochester, NY winter with them on a RWD Kia Stinger.

I wasn't easy on the tires and a 1.5 years in they are at the wear bars.

Pros: grip really well
Cons: seem noisy, wear fast
Vehicle: Kia

MICHELIN Tires

At first I thought they were decent but now at 20k miles they don't grip nearly as well, even with my AWD. I turned off traction control the other day and with a damp road (not raining) I did a 4 wheel burnout up to about 50 mph.

Cons: poor grip, high wear
Vehicle: Kia
Mileage: 32186 km

Kumho Tires

The Kumho are crap in the rain. I was facing hydroplaning issues within a week of buying the car.

The did do it in a decently controlled way but I have not been impressed with the stock tires at all. Not to mention I have 20k on them and about 10% of tread left.

Pros: decently controlled way
Cons: crap in the rain, hydroplaning
Vehicle: Kia
Mileage: 32186 km
