WEST LAKE Tires
BarnBuiltBeaters
  • Grip:
  • Ride comfort:
Rating 4.0

Westlake makes pretty affordable tires that should be within your budget. They perform decently well but dont last as long as a standard tire from my experience. I believe I got approximately 25k miles out of them

Pros: affordable tires, decent performance
Cons: dont last as long
Mileage: 40233 km

VALVOLINE Engine oil

I’ve had great luck with “Valvoline Restore and Protect” I have a Sportage with the same 2.4L, it burns 4-6 oz. every 3,000 miles. Used to burn 1 qt every 500 miles.

Pros: reduced oil burning
Vehicle: Kia Sportage
Mileage: 4828 km

OEM KIA Pistons

Only real issues I have had is with our 2020 Kia Sportage and oil consumption. Known issue. After having a misfire issue investigated we had a piston soak / cleaning done to see if that would improve oil use. It has remained at NO oil consumption in the first 1200 miles since that was done.

Pros: no oil consumption
Cons: oil consumption issue
Vehicle: Kia Sportage
Mileage: 1200 km

fairly new Kia Sportage is at the dealership, because it’s struggling on acceleration. Dealership told me they want to swap out the fuel filters to see if that will fix the problem and charge me $400 to do so.

Cons: struggling on acceleration
