Mobil Engine oil

10W-40 full synthetic Mobil 1 fixed that on my 05 Rio with the B6 Mazda engine. The sound goes away shortly after an oil change and it stays away for about 2 or 3,000 mi until the oil breaks down and it starts to make the noise again.

Pros: fixed the sound, stays for 2-3k miles
Cons: sound returns when oil breaks down
Vehicle: Kia Rio

OEM KIA CVT transmission

Rating 4.5

If you take care of it and follow some basic rules (like N while waiting in traffic, let engine get to optimum temp on cold start and regular maintenance) Kia have learned their lesson and tuned the transmission and engine to a point where DCT + 1L turbo engine is not a big concern nowadays. All the fear about DCT and turbo petrol is exaggerated.

Pros: well-tuned, reliable
Cons: requires careful use
Vehicle: Kia
Mileage: 2500 km

OEM KIA Catalytic converter

The one I got a few weeks ago was from a dealership in Florida and was unopened, in the bag with the Kia seal on the outlet end of the cat. DON’T get aftermarket when OE is available for this price. Trust me.

Pros: unopened, Kia seal, good price
Cons: aftermarket not recommended
Vehicle: Kia Soul
Part number: 28510-2BEF1

MICHELIN Tires

Ours wore out at 21k miles, handled okay in about 1-2 ft of snow and are awfully slick in rain. We put on Michelin cross climate 2s and have been on those for the last 4k miles and they have been great

Pros: handled okay in snow
Cons: awfully slick in rain
Vehicle: Kia
Mileage: 21000 km

Nexen Tires

Just replaced them last Spring with Nexen. I had problems then. One was already replaced. Well, I need to replace another one because the low pressure signal keeps coming on.

Yes; it's cold but I shouldn't have to put air in the same tire 5+ times a week. And that same tire had issues when it was on the back driver side (before the rotation).

Pros: low pressure signal
Cons: low pressure signal
Vehicle: Kia

Rating 1.0

Replaced the plugs and coils with Hitachis from Rock Auto for about $40 a piece. The Hitachis turned out to be dog \ud83d\udca9 and every one blew within about a year (the first one went bad in about a month).

Cons: blew within a year
Vehicle: Kia
Mileage: 75000 km

Pirelli Tires

They are ass, also already replaced 2 of them because they got bubbles on the side.

Had to replace them on my 22 K5 as well because they had already gone bald in places by the time of my first inspection

Cons: bubbles on the side
Vehicle: Kia
