Had to have our Tesla windshield replaced last year, but it’s good as new.
33k miles Model Y Perf - 0 cracks.
Got my windshield replaced on my MY23 a month ago by Tesla. Submitted claim to USAA, refunded back (Florida). This time got another crack and replacement again next week, going with Safelite. They can do the sensors and all. Paid by USAA.
Got a rock chip 13 days into my MYLR7 ownership which developed into a 20" crack right across the driver's side. Had it replaced next day at the Service Center for my $100 deductible. Great deal I thought... Until I picked up the car and heard wind noise throughout the driver's side. They had to put in another windshield.
My last car went 13 years without a cracked windshield. My new Tesla had a crack in less than 6 months.
Im 2 for 2 (Y and 3) with cracked windshield, so yes. This is from a guy who has driven more than + 700,000 km and 6 different other cars.
I just experienced similar issue with my 2023 x3 m40i yesterday. Mysterious crack that appeared out of nowhere - starts at the top edge (roughly center of windshield), runs straight down vertically until top of bottom sensor, then splits horizontal in both directions.
I had mine done by the Santa Monica SC and it took them 3 times to seal it right. They also scratched the hood of my car. Overall -3/10.
I’ve owned 6 BMWs every one of them got cracked windshields, some multiple times….i always got oem…
They replaced my windshield in early January, one-day job, had an appointment to take it back Febuary 1st because of wind noise coming in thru the windshield and it’s been there since.
