I ended up going through a local glass company, and they sourced OEM glass from BMW. The replacement went perfectly.

Pros: perfect replacement

OEM BMW Windshield

Just left the dealership today looking for a quote on my 2021 430i with HUD. I was going to pay out of pocket to avoid a comprehensive claim on my insurance until I was quoted $2K.

Safelite’s windshield is not tinted nor as thick as the OEM. I’d recommend only use the BMW OEM windshield or you’re devaluing you X5.

Pros: tinted, thick, maintains value
Vehicle: BMW X5

The glass is not great, at least that’s been my experience for my M3. It’s gotten to the point that I’m getting too good at those repair kits.

Cons: glass is not great

Never had a windshield that was so easy to get dinged up on. Had my M3 for less than 6 months and it’s pitted all over the place.

Cons: poor durability, easily dinged, pits quickly
