For my X5 M comp I go with the ultimate tire/wheel, windshield, ext maintenance (5 not 7). Curb rash one rim and you make it back… WS replacement from crack is the same. BMW glass has gotten softer and more prone.

Pros: make it back

Cons: BMW glass softer

My Model S plan went from $15->$20 monthly and I’m keeping it. I had to replace a windshield on my BMW earlier this year at $1300 out of pocket.

Pros: cheaper than out of pocket

Cons: increase in cost

Carglasshoz legalább 10 autót vittem az elmúlt években. Minden esetben szépen dolgoztak, 2-3 óra alatt kész is. Cascos autó esetén ingyenes.

2018 BMW F30 318d: Fragile windshields? We’re on the 3rd one already. Oil filter housing was replaced at 125k km due to a cracked coolant passage. OEM unit was plastic and was replaced with a metal one. Wheel speed sensors have been replaced twice already.

Pros: routine maintenance

Cons: fragile windshields

Carglass ist halt ein "Hau Ruck Verein" in Fließbandabfertigung und verbaut billige Scheiben. Es gibt auch mehrere Berichte, dass Leute nach Carglass Scheiben Probleme haben was Stabilität betrifft und der nächste Steinschlag wieder folgt.

Cons: billige Scheiben, Stabilitätsprobleme, anfällig für Steinschläge

In over 20+ years of owning BMWs, and 35 years of owning other brands, I’ve never had a windshield crack. Then yesterday my 2024 M4 X40i with 7000 miles got hit by a people and bam, not just a chip, it cracked halfway across. Unfortunately, mine is on the driver’s side, right at my eyeline.

Cons: cracked easily, chipped easily

On my 2022 540i, I went through 3 windshields during my 3 year lease. Felt like the glass with HUD is made of sugar these days.
