We love our 24 badlands in eruption green with a black top. It’s been awesome. We got 36,100km on it now. Have had to get an alignment, 1 new windshield, and a new grill because the clip that holds the front camera had broken and a piece fell out. But it’s still awesome.
If you ever need to replace a windshield, spend the extra money and get a ford windshield.
For my X5 M comp I go with the ultimate tire/wheel, windshield, ext maintenance (5 not 7). Curb rash one rim and you make it back… WS replacement from crack is the same. BMW glass has gotten softer and more prone.
Just got mine fixed 2 weeks ago. Initially, it was a small crack in the top-right corner, and it extended gradually until a cold morning like -5 degrees, then it cracked across the whole windshield.
Ford came out today and told me this is normal in every car. I let them know I never had this issue in my Audi.
my ford dealership could not find a chip on the glass. can confirm it was due to the windshield defect - stress crack, they called it (but Ford Canada refuse to see it as a defect i.e. not enough data). my experience with other cars did not have this issue, such as lexus, audi, pontiac, bmw, hyundai etc. others have also reported similar problems with Ford's windshields.
My Bronco will be two years old in January. Its windshield is 3 months old... The windshield before that made it to 6 months old, AND the windshield before that was 3 months old....
I live in Alberta. No windshields survive more than 2-3 years at best. Mine lasted 3 months before it got hammered by a cobble off a gravel truck.
Less than 300km before mine split right in my line of view
My Ford Tourneo Connect has developed a fault where the windshield is detaching from the bonding material, a major safety hazard. I've contacted Ford Motor Company in Spain, but they insist there is no recall for my specific vehicle, despite similar issues and a previous recall for the panoramic roof glass using similar bonding.
