The Falken Wildpeak A/T trails that I got late this spring have been great since. They're quiet and surprisingly efficient on the road, while delivering noticeably better grip on loose dirt, mud, and sand.
Kept mine at 35 (19 sport with stock falken). Now have Falken Wildpeaks also @ 35psi.
Even with these cheap Giti tires I have about 80% less wheel spin in snowy conditions compared to normal \"Street\" mode in same conditions. Turning a corner, the stability is enhanced and feels safer.
Just took it for my first drive on snowy Boston roads. Slushy really, barely an inch. My impression so far is snow mode clearly retards the Tig's throttle and seems to start in 2nd gear, limiting torque. It feels fairly solid and I didn't feel much slip, even on my own unplowed street.
Performance-wise, I've been happy with my Gitis. At 1/32 of wear at 23K miles, the guy at Discount Tire was impressed.
My SE came with the Giti, never heard of them before. So far so good, but it's only the first year I've had them and I'm at 7000 miles. I'll probably replace them before next winter.
Ditched my Falkens the first week of ownership. Blizzaks rock!
The best upgrade i did was ditch the stock faulkens at about 20-25K of use and went with 225-55-17 all season tire for summer use.
I currently have a set of Falken's 225-40-18 and I must say that I have gotten about 23k out of them and at about the 20k the tires had cracks all over, the handling wasnt great but wasnt bad, they are not noisy in my opinion.
Car was on all seasons that were almost new(falken 912's). Going down the highway at 35 in 4th gear, I was running about 1k rpm and any touch of the gas would spin the tires. Starting on a hill was impossible.
