This tire is a GITI tire made in China, Indonesia and America & it's not the best by far. Probably defective and inferior materials combined with whatever you drove into or over it failed miserably.
Giti is an okay brand of tire but personally, I will switch to Michelins once the OEM tires need replacing. And even then EV tires will need more constant replacements because of the extra weight.
Can u at least get brand new china tyres like Giti or tourador instead of second hand tyres?
Another alternative is to look for budget tier tires. I went down the rabbit hole recently and Giti is apparently decent enough and performs well as its branded peers in wet conditions.
Ive heard of laufenn but im more familiar with Giti as you see there stuff rebranded in the US as GT Radial and Dextero which are popular in discount tire and walmart. They’re a good budget tire but dont expect 50k out of them. I find most budget tires feel just as good as the more expensive stuff with their longevity being the main drawback
I got over 55,000 out of the factory Giti so I bought another set from the dealer.
I have a 2021 VW Tiguan SE 4Motion with 43k miles, still rocking its factory Giti tires. While prepping for a road trip, I discovered that all four are dry rotting pretty badly, and one is starting to crack on the sidewall. Kinda looks like I needed tires yesterday.
Changed to them a few months ago, the wear and tear of these tyres are poorer than the common brands such as Bridgestones, foresee it lasting about 1 year compared to 2-3 years with common brands tyres. My road usage is around 12000-13000 km per year.
I have run Gitisynergy H2 in 195/65R15 size. Where it loses out is sheer feel and dry grip. The sidewalls on H2 are softer, tends to roll a lot, leading to a numb and delayed handling feel. On the plus side, it was very puncture resistant and had wet grip on par with the T005. I did not feel that the tyres were sketchy in the wet. Wear was average - at around 40,000km mark the sidewalls were wearing down into almost nothing and the tyre was becoming a bit donut-shaped.
Have it on my model 3 for almost 30,000km already, so far so good. Not as noisy as my PS4s but definitely not grippier as well but it’s negligible on everyday normal driving. Its super cheap tho, I can change out tyres every 2-3 years and it’s cheaper than a set of PS4/5s
