Strut assembly KYB or Sachs

KYB Strut assembly

Shocks, struts, and strut parts: I always recommend the premium option for suspension parts. The system actually says that subtly. Typically that's the KYB brand.

Pros: premium option

The front I also got KYB struts. No issues with fitment but I needed to rent an extra set of spring compressors as the front coils were thicker more difficult to compress.

Pros: no issues with fitment
Cons: difficult to compress

KYB Strut assembly

KYB is OE on a Toyota. I have used these on several cars without an issue. They might be a little stiff at first.

Pros: no issues
Cons: a little stiff

Sachs Strut assembly

The factory Sachs struts are also pretty good. Not sure if the M-Sport got different shocks from the regular sport, but all that's left anymore from Sachs are sport struts. Unfortunately for those of us without the sport package it makes shock replacement a pain, since their resting position is shorter than stock, and makes them shorter than the spring. I never want to do that repair ever again.

Pros: pretty good
Cons: replacement a pain, shorter than stock
Vehicle: BMW
