I installed new rear kyb SR4484 coil/struth assembly on my 2010 forester. The forester feels so much better, no noise or clunking.
I used them on my ep81 starlet. Theyre fine. Think of them like oem struts, if not higher quality.
KYB is the bee’s knees for Lexus. It’s OEM and will get it as close to new as you can get.
the KYB struts are just as good as OEM.
KYB struts got the OEM feel.
KYB shouldn’t let you down but don’t sleep on HL Mando. Certainly the one I would go with if you have a Hyundai or Kia as this is their OEM but a ton of other brands use HL Mando from the factory too.
I used the KYB Excel-G struts to replace both fronts on my MR2 Spyder until I got my BC coilovers and they’re fine. Not necessarily any harsher of a ride and they’ve seemed to hold up pretty decent (keep in mind your mileage really may vary as I only did a few thousand miles with them!)
I put those on a 2011. They are slightly stiff but super easy to drop in both front and rear. Really great on the highway but a little harder than I would like on local streets with pot holes.
Factory struts are now made by Sachs and didn't last.
I did KYBs and they were horribly stiffer in the springs on my Sonata (RIP).
