Rear shocks are Rancho 9000 nine-way adjustables, set at "3-clicks in" by Mike's son Matt, who's in charge of suspension tuning.
For shocks, I would use the Bilstein sports instead of HD's if you plan to use lowering springs. (R32 fronts and Jetta rears)
I have had this setup for a few months now, but figured I should post up on the Vortex so people can see it. Ground Control Coilover Conversion kit 400/300 spring rates mated to Bilstein Sport front (insert) and rear.

This is what I did to make my '80 Diesel Caddy a 1 Ton Rabbit on the cheap: 16V Scirocco front springs; they have the highest A-1 spring rates that came stock in the US. Bilstein HD front shocks.
my truck used to be raised... i used mk1 cabriolet front springs with bilstein hd shocks, was super stiff!
I run bilstein HDs (part of a Shine suspension setup). They're not adjustable, but I wouldn't know what to adjust.
30+ year old Bilsteins...still damp the rebound nicely too.
Yep, the 4 speed selector lever is shorter than the 5-speed part:
My car is out of alignment too (neuspeed sport springs/bilstein shocks/17" rims). From what I am told, after having the car aligned 3 times, the only way I can get it back into alignment is to reinstall the stock springs / shocks.
