I believe that the only solution is 2 Blistein B6, about 400USD each
For the the rear right now I put on rancho rs5000x as they were less tha half price of the eibach. The rancho was ALOT more plush with the aal than Bilstein.
4600s at stock height was the best my jeep every drove. Moved to 3” lift with 5100s. Honestly considering going back to stock on my next XJ
I have 5100’s on my XJ & they are definitely an improvement. Stiffer on road & great off-road, definitely an upgrade over stock or rough country I previously had.
I have the 4600s on my XJ with stock ride height. They absolutely transformed the ride around town and handling at highway speeds. The biggest thing I noticed was there was an off-ramp I used to be scared to take higher than 50MPH that I could take at 70MPH after the upgrade. After the upgrade I used to run over potholes and speed bumps with abandon because the new shocks just took it. I've had them for about 175K miles and only recently have I started to think that it's time to replace them.
I have not put them on an XJ specifically yet, but 5100’s on my Tacoma and 4600’s on my Ram 2500 were game changers.
I’m not driving an xj but my wj has 4.5” lift and I put bilstein 5100’s on it shortly after the lift. I had whatever shocks that came with the initial lift kit but they were junk. It’s on short arms so the suspension is pretty abrupt and violent on big bumps. The 5100’s are nice if you’re looking for heavy hauling and fire roads.
I use them and really like them, and I have only an upcountry lift, so close to stock. if anything they're a bit on the firm side, so they are def more stable, controlled, and connected. They don't totally remove the bumps, but I much prefer them to the monroes.
I’ve got rancho on my stock height xj right now and it’s not bad by any means but I don’t have anything to compare it to besides the blown OEM shocks that they replaced a few months back.
It’s the crap Rancho shocks.
