I installed them today as well as the black forest industry solid rubber bushings for the front control arm. I definitely enjoy the ride way better than the shi*t coilovers I had. Very smooth bounce back when hitting shallow parts of the road. Feels slightly floaty which I kinda enjoy. It hooks up to the road when hitting bumps and uneven pavement. B8s are definitely a go to mod if you want to lower your GTI and improve handling
billsteins are maybe a quarter or half inch above stock height but miles ahead in comfort
Reemplace los amortiguadores con un juego completo de Bilstein B6 (lo que solían llamar HD).
If you want an OEM original ride you can probably stick with the springs you have and get some Bilstein B4 rear shocks and front cartridges. Any other way will be stiffer and lower. This will have it ride about like it did when new.
That's great but remember that they are very firm for their intended us by designe. B4 is already 10% firmer than stock and has proper rebound damping.
I tried this as one of four combinations of suspension on my 2015 GSW TDI. The B8's and Eibach Pro combo lowered my car about 1 1/2 \" front and rear. The handling was awesome but a bid too firm for the bad roads in my town...I'm getting soft in my old age. I loved the way the car looked.
I run Bilstein 5100s on my 2500. They're a big improvement over stock, but don't expect to get a plush ride
Bilstein 5100's have been the best shock I've ever used on a truck. I've had Fox shocks, even with remote reservoirs... and I'd still take the 5100's.
Typical issues (my car had all of these save the throttle body): -Dampers are normally done by 80k miles -Front lower control arm bushings tear and fail
I have had Bilstein HDs on my GLS for a couple years now and I also think they are too soft. Still too much body sway and roll, especially loaded for a trip, in my opinion.
