Rating 5.0

I used 30W Ford Super Premium Motor Oil and a Ford FL-1A filter, and I changed the oil and filter, and greased every component myself, including the U-joints every 3,000 miles where necessary. I asked my Uncle who manufactured this oil, and he didn’t know, UNTIL one day, he received a case of oil Labeled as Exon Uniflo, one of the highest rated brands at the time. It was obvious, at least to me, that Ford Super Premium engine oil and Exon Uniflo were one and the same. I sold the car 5 years later with almost 98,000 miles on it, and absolutely no engine problems.

Pros: no engine problems
Vehicle: Ford Galaxy
Mileage: 98000 km
Part number: FL-1A

VALVOLINE Oil filter

Have a look at Valvoline restore and protect which is also for high mileage vehicles. Also grab a few oil filters, as the product does such a good job, you'll want to replace the oil and filter, do a few good long drives in the first weeks/month, replace the filter, do it again over the next few months, replace the filter, and keep that for the rest of the year ( maybe check the filter just in case ), and you'll see just how well it does.

Pros: does a good job

OEM FORD Oil filter

In my Hybrid, I use the OLM for recommended changes, except for the initial break-in oil/filter change. I did that one at 4k, which was about 2k of gasoline engine miles. OEM filter was tiny and I wanted to get it replaced.

Pros: OEM filter replaced
Cons: OEM filter tiny
Vehicle: Ford
Mileage: 4000 km

VALVOLINE Oil filter

I like Valvoline Restore and Protect along with the OEM black filter. But also, if your washer fluid lights keeps coming on, just unplug it. It’s so much easier than trying to find an another bump in the road to purposefully drive over to turn off! 😂 some say you can fill your washer reservoir with white vinegar and clean the sensor, but it didn’t work for me.

Pros: Valvoline Restore and Protect, OEM black filter
Vehicle: Subaru
