double check the oil filter: stick with the brand name MANN or oem. make sure that you put some oil on the rubber gasket before you re install the filter housing to make sure you have a complete seal. also put some fresh oil in the filter housing that way you do not starve your motor of oil when you start it up.

Pros: complete seal, no starving motor

Bosch Oil filter

Bosch oil filters. I used them to desludge 2 engines, and it CONSTANTLY keeps pulling more and more out. Only problem, they are black, so leak detection can be difficult if its in a tight spot.

Pros: desludges engines
Cons: black, leak detection

Mann Oil filter

To change oil for a 2011 VW golf, you do need a special oil filter wrench (14 Points, 74mm),as the new german cars are using a cartridge type oil filter. I got mine from ebay, made of cast aluminium, works like a charm.

Pros: works like a charm
Mileage: 6140 km
Part number: HU 719/6X

Mann Oil filter

As far as oil filters go, if things haven't changed since I sold my old Jetta, Fram, K&N and possibly others all sell the same filter made by Mann. They are literally identical to the Mann and original VW filters. Buy which ever one you can find for cheap.

Pros: identical to original
Cons: find one for cheap
