I just buy a Bosch at Walmart. My Accord has been chugging along fine for past 12 years with those.
OEM Volvo or Mann.
Mann oil filter, it's want they use in Europe (and what VW recommends)
Mann Oil Filter (@ 160,156) Liqui Moly 5w-40 Oil Change Kit (@ 160,156) Liqui Moly Ceratec Oil Additive (@ 160,156)
I was also running the over sized Mann filter with 5qts. I was originally running an APR tune @ 16psi with this setup and it seemed fine for the 8-9k miles i was using that tune.
As long as the filter works well with synthetic oil. Some really cheap ones dont work well with synthetic like the red Purolator or Microgaurds. Bosch makes a great filter, I've used a few in my cars with store brand synthetic oil and oil stayed brown for a long time.
Also, you should think about running Mann or Bosch oil filters....maybe Wix. On start-up, your oil pressure will routinely go beyond 100 psi and worse if your oil pressure relief valve in the pump is getting debris behind it and scoring the piston in the bottom of the pump.
Next oil change, use a mann, hangst, wix, bosch oil fliter and 20w50 oil.
I also use Moble 1 0w-40 and a Mann filter.
anyone know if the mahle's are still made in a decent place. no more mann filter on my car, at least not the chinese ones.
