Ignition coil BERU or Bremi

BERU Ignition coil

I use a BERU ZSE001 Ignition Coil, also in a '72. It's bomb-proof - zero starting issues after a lifetime (3 decades!) of bump-starting.

Only disadvantage is it doesn't like being left in the 'contact' position for long, which is not a problem for me.

Pros: bomb-proof, zero starting issues
Cons: dislikes contact position
Part number: ZSE001

Conselho: coloque bobinas originais Beru ou então Magneti Marelli. As demais bobinas pra K4M não são boas de acordo com todos os membros do Clube da Megane que precisaram fazer troca delas!

Pros: original parts recommended
Cons: other brands not good
Vehicle: Renault Megane

Ive had mine misfire all of a sudden, whole car shook, CEL lit up, said code "cylinder 1 misfires" sometimes it ran normal but then rough again. If i gave more than 1/2 throttle it shook even more and it had no power at all. When i checked the coils on mine they were original "BREMI" manufactured and even the date from back in the day was on the bremi coils. They now held up 230000 kilometers since when the car rolled off the factory, thats more than enough service

Pros: long service life, 230000 km
Cons: eventual misfires, loss of power
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 230000 km

Replaced all 6 coils with a set of Bremi from FCP 60k miles/9 years ago. I’ve got a new set on the way thanks to their lifetime replacement program. The customer service rep said they should be changed every 3-4 oil changes which sounds crazy to me He said I got luck they lasted 9 years. But I was expecting more like 100k not 60k. Granted I was going uphill with a full load with lights/AC/stereo all on. Probably should have lightened the electrical load but it’s never been a problem until today. SES light came on. Engine started misfiring. Pulled over immediately. Ran the codes. Got a P1353 (cylinder 6 misfire/coil).

Pros: lasted 9 years
Cons: misfiring, only 60k miles
Mileage: 96560 km
