Engine oil Castrol or OEM Toyota
I run Castrol Edge in my VDub. It's the European blend that is approved by VW as shown on the back of the jug.
I use Castrol R, smells great and reminds me of riding 2 stroke bikes from my younger days.
Castrol full sinthetic.
Or Motul 7100, even better.
I use Castrol on my z4. Works like a charm
Castro Synth. is all i ever used in my BMW 60,000miles runs perfect change every 7,000 miles
(5w-40)
I change my oil at dealer every 10k miles. This time I am going to pay $299 for a package of 5 oil changes, with tire rotations, filter and all liquids fililled up if necessary.
After some research I heard people use 5w40 to quiet the motor down and lubricate the lifters better for high mileage engines. picked up some castrol edge 5w-40 and it runs buttery smooth, noticeably quieter and another big thing is oil consumption drops A LOT due to the oil being thicker and harder to burn or leak. I used to need maybe a quart a month now Ik down to half a quart a month.
I use this Castrol Edge 5w40 for 5 years already in my e46’s m54b30. No issues. Trying to stick to 10k km intervals.
In my e39 M54B30 473k km I am dumping Castrol Magnatec 5w-40.
Nothing to complain.
I've used both, M1 was quiter and yes it did burn a quater quart more in the same period.
