Castrol Engine oil

Better to use cheap oil and change often than to buy expensive oil and run it out to 10k+ miles. Personally I typically use Castrol products and change my gasoline engines at 3k and Diesel engines at 5k miles.

Pros: use Castrol products
Cons: cheap oil
Vehicle: Jeep
Mileage: 3000 km

IDEMITSU Engine oil

I stick to Idemitsu. I have a Sohn adapter fitted, so it's 10-30 Idemitsu in the engine, twice a year and Idemitsu Premix in the Sohn adapter and in the fuel tank.

Pros: idemitsu in the engine

Castrol Engine oil

I use the castrol gtx high mile full synthetic 10w-40 and a sohn adapter with ideimitsu. I’m sure non of the name brands will hurt As long as you change it frequently.

Pros: change it frequently

I was using the OEM Castrol 5w40 and recently switched to Castrol European Formula 0w40. I found that I had the oil level drop a bit (oil burn perhaps) with the latter. For the current change I went back to OE Castrol and will see if things go back to no level drop.

Pros: no oil level drop (OEM 5w40)
Cons: oil level drop (European Formula 0w40)
Vehicle: Audi TT
