Decided to change my cabin filter today, I’m gonna be honest and forgot these had them. I think the P/O forgot to, the old one was dated May of 2003. Quick little before and after. Ofc bought the Mann filter, gotta keep it OEM ????
I bought a MANN filter for \\~$20 on Amazon and swapped it myself in under 30 minutes with a YouTube video.
Tbf, cabin filter always overpriced on BMW authorized dealer. At my local dealer, a standard carbon filter
(made by MANN) is thrice the price if you buy the same MANN filter without the BMW logo on it.
You ca replace your cabin air filter yourself and save yourself the money. I just replaced mine it’s like 4 screws but I must warn it’s a pain in the ass but it’s very doable.
I personally buy it direct from the dealer, it is $45, but fits perfectly
Using the reg of a 2015 MK7 golf I used to own, you can get a MANN cabin filter for £20 (high quality top end, can get much much cheaper), and they’re super easy to replace yourself (2mins).
Maintenance for our EVs: annual washer fluid and wiper blades; biannual cabin air filter
I have done zero maintenance, outside of wipers, one set of tires (because I hit a pothole) and cabin air filter, on my 12 year old Leaf.
I thought the real issue was the fact that the Atlas cabin filter is just paper, whereas they used to use carbon filter in other, older models. Thus, all outside smells can easily be entered into the cabin.
I did the same mistake and bought these filters. They suck, just buy OEM or MANN filters (they are the same as OEM)
