EBC Blues or Ferodo DS2500s are the minimum baseline for what I'd put on the track. They can both handle novice/intermediate pace without being absolute shrieking banshees on the street. Lot of dust though, and they likely won't hold up to more than 4-5 track days. But very streetable.

Pros: streetable, handles novice pace
Cons: lots of dust, short lifespan

I've had them for 30k km and they're great. Perfect for spirited driving / autocross and I've only ever had brake dust squeal once and for a very short time.

Pros: great, perfect for spirited driving
Cons: brake dust squeal
Mileage: 30000 km

Others like EBC have specific procedures for heating and cooling the brakes to make them to the surface.

Pros: specific procedures

I ran the EBC BlueStuff NDX. They are a great track pad but also didn’t feel like a track pad when driving on the street. They have decent cold bite and we’re very quiet for me.

Pros: great track pad, decent cold bite, quiet

I’ve got ebc red stuff pads on my non performance GTI and they are ok. I probably will get something different next time around. They do dust a bit, probably the same as oem.

Pros: fine for street use
Cons: dusts a bit
Vehicle: Volkswagen

People on the internet always talk trash about ebc yellow, and I assumed it was just internet trash talk. This post is 100% accurate though, they absolutely disappeared on the track.

Cons: disappeared on track
