Brake discs Brembo or DBA

Brembo Brake discs

I just did this and did a ton of research. The brembo prime rotors were most expensive at rockauto but still cheap relative to oem and even autozone gold. I would go with any of the coated premium rotors, but for 20 bux more each at 60 bux they are still cheaper than OEM.

Pros: cheap, good quality

I’ve just installed the Brembos off rockauto, rotors and ceramic pads. They feel great for what they are. Paid $180 landed for the set, well worth it in my opinion.

Pros: feel great, well worth it

Brembo for me. Quieter and mas makapit. Had akebono on my fd, di pantay yung ends ng pads after 1 year even if its new rotors. Somehow for the brembo’s, new rotors too after 1.2 years, pantay pa rin lahat. Di pa maingay.

Pros: Quieter and mas makapit
Cons: di pantay yung ends

I just fitted DBA rotors (slotted) with Akebono ceramic pads to my F22. DBA does a few different styles for different applications. If you're mainly streeting your car, you generally don't need drilled. Dust and noise is almost non existent with these pads, with a little more bite than OEM.

Pros: low dust, low noise, good bite

I did brembo rotors and akebono pads up front on my '12 a few weeks ago. Happy with them so far, saved me from hitting a deer a few days after getting them on. Still need to do the backs and probably change out the calipers at some point.

Pros: happy with them

I don't notice a difference between my T drives and OEM 2022 GSXR 1000 brembo rotors honestly. Can definitely tell the difference with fresh fluid, new pads, and a new master though.

Pros: fresh fluid, new pads
Cons: no noticeable difference

I bought new set of rotors DBA 5000 T3, (floating rotors) and paired them with ebc rp1 pads. I have rbf600 fluid (around 1,5y old) and braided brake lines. Car is 370z.

Did the bedding in procedure, all good. Rotors have 300km, all works perfectly.

Today i went to a track day and did several very powerful brakings, but also did a cool down lap. And on that first stint, my pedal got soft. Ok, fluid will change.... But stopping in the paddock, the brakes were smoking a bit. I immediately rushed out and did a few km outside, cca 80-90kmh to cool the brakes down. Worked well, they were cool. But then i checked paint markings, all changed colors, indicating rotors exceeded 630°C.

And that was one short stint. So later when i drove, i was very gentle, all good...but i feel slight judder around 120kmh, and when i brake, the steering wheel shakes a bit.

Did i really manage to ruin completely new rotors in ONE stint?

Pros: works perfectly initially
Cons: pedal got soft, brakes smoking
Vehicle: Nissan
Mileage: 300 km
